The very first Nikkor fastest standard SLR lens with a single coating on all glass-to-air surfaces. Initially I was interested to try this lens because of its beautiful design, all black painted metal lens barrel with a chrome ring between. There are six types of 55/1.2, the first version is a prototype, when viewed from the serial number mine is second version.
last production of this one around 1967, I was lucky to get this lens in a excellent condition with signs of light use and The glass is perfect, no scratches, haze or fungus with small amount of internal dust.
Many reviews on the internet saying that 55/1.2 produced soft focus image, especially at the full aperture. Until I tried it myself and I was very impressed with the results.
all images taken at full aperture, because a fast lens is designed for that purpose. Using nikon D60 at default camera settings, with no post processing just resize from original file.
as you can see, fine image from great nikkor glass.
