This is Latest variant of the Nikkor 85mm F1.8, appearance similar to Ai type but this is known as Nikkor-K (pre-ai) with no ADR scale on aperture ring before being replaced by the Nikkor 85mm f/2 AI.
This original nikon K mount do not fully compatible with every Nikon DSLR, only mount on nikon cheaper DSLR with no AF Motor and do not have the AI Coupler like Nikon d40, d60 etc.
This is one of the most versatile and popular of all
lenses in the Nikon lineup has a 6
elements in 4 groups optical design, maximum aperture F/1.8, six aperture blade, minimum focusing distance possible with
this lens is 0.85m, multicoated with NIC (Nikon Integrated Coating) to reduce flare and ghost.
Performance of this popular 85mm f/1 8 Nikkor lens produce sharp and contrast images even wide open, like all fast telephoto lenses, purple fringing visible in the area out of focus highlights, only if you shoot at full aperture and crop on a scale of >100% . With fast F1.8 maximum aperture enables greater isolation of depth of field.
here some pictures i took with this lens using Nikon D60, just resize:
distance object at F/1.8 |
100% cropped picture above |
all picture taken at wide open, I always take sample pictures at the wide maximum aperture, because if you stop down to the smaller aperture certainly you will get good results.
